I “managed” to take a photo of a beautiful gradient today.
Thursday, January 13th, 2011Another useful android functionality
Saturday, December 25th, 2010In the middle of re-imaging my old work machine, I was challenged with installing drivers for some USB wireless devices that had been disowned by their manufacturer websites. Third party download sites seemed more interested in giving you 5+ huge “download” links that will take you to a “Doctor PC”. Since I couldn’t wire the machine to the ethernet (I could, just lazy to carry it downstairs), I decided to try tethering via my Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S Variant). The storage portion does plug and play pretty well, and one of the storage partitions, I keep a copy of the Samsung Vibrant Modem driver. After installing the modem, I was ready to tether. It works beautifully. There’s just one thing I didn’t notice… I was on wireless network, not 3g. So the internet that I was running off of is my own internet at home. Basically I’m using my phone like a USB wireless device.
Amazing eh?
Oh, and Merry Christmas!
